Version 1.3.1, free to use. See the licence.

Tested on Joomla 6.2 with a live Openprovider reseller account

DNT Domain Check for Openprovider is an Ajax plugin for Joomla. A visitor types a name in a form on your site and sees per extension, for example .nl, .com and .eu, whether the domain is available. The check runs live against the Openprovider API, so the result is correct at the moment of searching. You can see it working on our own domain check page.

You need your own Openprovider reseller account. Without it the plugin cannot check anything. This plugin is not affiliated with or endorsed by Openprovider.

Key Features

  • Live availability check through the Openprovider API (XML API with password hash, or REST API with password)
  • Your own extensions and price per year, set in one list (up to 15); the price is shown with every free domain
  • Placeholders for your articles: {dntextensies}, {dntprijzen} and {dntprijzentekst} are filled in on the server, so your price list and FAQ always show the current prices
  • Limit per visitor per hour, to protect your API account against abuse
  • Example form included, with the extensions and the price list filled in automatically
  • English and Dutch included
  • Automatic updates through the Joomla update system

System Requirements

  • Joomla 5.x or 6.x
  • PHP 8.1 or higher
  • An Openprovider reseller account with an API contact, and the IP address of your server on its whitelist

Installation Guide

  • Download the ZIP file with the button above
  • In the Joomla administrator, go to System > Install > Extensions and upload the ZIP. The package installs two plugins; the content plugin is enabled automatically
  • Go to System > Plugins, open "Ajax - DNT Domain Check for Openprovider", enable it, fill in the username and the password hash of your API contact, and set your extensions and prices on the tab Extensions and prices
  • Copy the form from example/domain-check-form.html in the ZIP into a Custom HTML module or an article, and set the page where visitors can request a domain
