DNT Reviews for Google Business Profile is a site module for Joomla. Your own server fetches the rating and the reviews from Google once a day and keeps a copy in the Joomla cache. Visitors only load your own page: no script from Google, no cookies and no profile photos. If Google cannot be reached, the module keeps showing the last good data.

What you need

A Google Cloud API key with the Places API (New) enabled, and the Place ID of your business. Restrict the key to the Places API (New) and to the IP address of your web server. One key can serve all sites on the same server. The README in the ZIP explains step by step where to find both.

Why at most five reviews?

The Places API returns at most five reviews per business, and Google chooses which ones. When "Only reviews with text" is on, reviews with stars only are skipped, so you can see fewer than five.

Costs

Google gives 1,000 free requests per month for the review data (Place Details Enterprise + Atmosphere, October 2026). With the default refresh of 24 hours, one module uses about 30 requests per month. A billing account in Google Cloud is required, even if you stay within the free requests.

Privacy

Reviews are fetched by your server, not by the browser of your visitor. No data of visitors goes to Google, so the module does not need a cookie banner. Names of reviewers are shown as Google publishes them.

Installation Guide

• Download the ZIP file with the button above
• In the Joomla administrator, go to System > Install > Extensions and upload the ZIP
• Go to Content > Site Modules > New > DNT Reviews for Google Business Profile
• Enter your API key, Place ID and review link, choose a position and save
